Medium John of God

Medium João Teixeira de Farias is affectionally known globally as John of God or João de Deus.

He was born on 24 July 1942, in Cachoeiras de Fumaça, Goias State-Brazil.

He is descendant of a large poor family and the youngest of six children.

John of God is a humble man, with no academic education and can barely read or write.

Medium John of God is self-employed as a farmer and dedicates 3 days a week of his time to the Healing Center known as Casa de Dom Inácio (House of St. Ignatius) in Abadiânia, Brazil. 
  

He discovered when turning 16 years old, that he had a gift of healing powers and since committed himself to help mankind, as he still does today 51 years on!

His gift is not hereditary, nor a learned skill and his services are free of charge to everyone!

"It is not me, but God and the Good Spirits that heal" , says John of God.

Religious leaders, the Medical field, the police and those with authorities threatened by John of God's Mediumship abilities had him beaten, thrown in jail, and then cast out of town.

Medium John of God even had some attempts on his life!

This was his way of life that went on for years, but he never gave up in what he believes.

Medium John of God encourages research into his healing work, in hope that Medical science can make use of his success, benefitting mankind.

Teams of legitimate scientists from Russia, USA, Germany, France, Japan, often come to the Center to do tests and to verify John of God's work. The most extensive study to date was done by the University of São Paulo, where the investigation period ran for over 2 years, and was made public in 1997.

Medium John of God is undoubtedly the most tested and examined person by scientific minds ever. 
  

The main aim of the Casa is to integrate Spiritual Healing with Medical Science.

Today, visitors to the Casa de Dom Inácio come from the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Africa, India, China, Europe, Middle East and the rest of South America to stand alongside Brazilians to see Medium John of God.

Visiting doctors, trained in conventional medicine are welcome to stand near John of God as he does surgery, take photographs, make notes or film and sometimes are even asked to assist Medium John of God in the healing work.

Several books have been written by health professionals, and Medium John of God has been the main subject on many documentaries on television stations around the world, like ABC-Primetime, National Geographic, Medical TV, Globo TV, M-Net Carte Blanche, Irish TV, Record TV, Channel 4-UK TV, Discovery Channel, BBC, New Zealand TV, WBS TV, Third Vision TV, Colorado TV, Dutch TV etc.
